Progettare con i plastici

An event that embodies the newfound interest of an architect from the Carlo Scarpa school in designing using study models with recycled cardboard, scissors and vinyl.

An apparent step backwards which is surprising for its innovative consequences which facilitate the perception and development of spatial solutions in all their forms.

Sergio Ballini born in 1936, graduated as an architect in Venice in 1969, speakers Carlo Scarpa and Valeriano Pastor.

He worked in 1969 for Edoardo Gellner in the Cortina studio.
Called by Bepi Mazzariol, he was an assistant on UIA courses in the early 70s with friends Gianfranco Della Puppa, Michele Sambin and Josè Oubrèrie.
In this context he met Louis Khan and had the opportunity to discuss with him his project for 4 homes then built in Bassano del Grappa.

He designed furnishings for the Biennale at Cà Giustinian in 1972 and, with Michele Sambin, took care of the external arrangements for the pictorial interventions of the "Allende Brigade" in Venice, Chioggia and Mira on the occasion of the Biennale-Chile 1974. The intervention will result in the video “murals” in 1974.

After a period in teaching, he works in the Urban Planning Office of the Municipality of Venice.

He collaborated in the happy design season of his friends Afra and Tobia Scarpa in the creations of Casa Lorenzin in 1976, Casa Tonolo in 1978 and Casa Scarpa in 1980.
